Fees & insurance coverage

We are pleased to offer direct billing for psychotherapy services to a number of extended
health carriers (see list below).

At this time, we are only able to bill to your primary
insurance carrier. We recommend calling your insurance company to confirm that they allow
direct billing prior to booking an appointment. If you would like to use this service,
we will need you to upload your insurance information into your Jane client profile.

Individual therapy is where a therapist works with a single person in a non-judgmental, safe, and caring space to explore the individual’s thoughts, behaviours, and emotions, focusing on creating meaningful change that will promote the person’s mental well-being.

Couples therapy involves a couple working with a therapist to enhance their relationship through improving communication, modifying unhealthy behaviours, and focusing on the strengths within the relationship.

Child and adolescent therapy involves a child or adolescent working with a therapist to explore their thoughts, behaviours, and emotions and focus on adaptive coping strategies, positive growth, and increase their problem-solving abilities.

Frequently asked questions

To start therapy, all you need to do is email admin@talkthereapyservices.ca or call our office 519-319-8037, and based on your needs we will connect you with one of our qualified mental health professionals.

At your first session your therapist will start by asking what has brought you to therapy and explain their style of therapy and see if you feel that they will be a good fit for you. Please ask any questions you may have, as your therapist wants you to feel as comfortable as possible. If your therapist asks you something, and you aren’t comfortable sharing, that is okay. Just let your therapist know you aren’t ready to talk about it. As you feel more comfortable with your therapist, you will be able to open up more.

All of our mental health professionals offer a free 15-minute consultation, this allows you to ask questions, and get a feel for what therapy will be like, which makes the experience much less intimidating and more empowering.

Counselling can help you by giving you a safe space to vent, reflect, learn coping skills, communication skills, and foster resilience. Counselling can help you heal from a traumatic event, or cope with negative thoughts, stress, anxiety, and depression by using practical tools that will help you grow personally and professionally.

Most insurance companies will reimburse for counselling services, although we do recommend that everyone contact their insurance provider directly to see if registered social workers (RSW) or registered psychotherapists (RP) are covered under their plan.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Cash, or e-Transfers.

Payments are due on the day of your appointment.

We maintain a 48-hour cancellation, rescheduling, and missed appointment policy. Our therapists require a significant amount of time to prepare for each counselling session, which ensures that you receive the best possible service, and therefore need adequate notice for an appointment changes.
