Parenting can be one of the most rewarding roles in life—but also one of the most demanding. Every parent faces stress, uncertainty, and emotional strain at some point, whether it’s managing difficult behaviours, navigating co-parenting dynamics, or balancing personal needs with family responsibilities. At Talk Therapy Counselling Services in London, Ontario, we understand that these challenges don’t mean you’re failing—they mean you’re human.
Our parenting counselling sessions are designed to help you explore your concerns in a safe, non-judgmental space. Using evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and positive parenting strategies, we work with you to build confidence, improve communication, and develop practical tools tailored to your family’s needs. Parenting doesn’t come with a manual, but you don’t have to figure it all out alone.
Support, insight, and real change are possible. With the right guidance, you can strengthen your parenting skills, reduce stress, and create a more balanced and connected home environment.

Supporting a child with autism can feel complex at times, especially when it comes to communication and daily routines. Our Parent Coaching for Autism program is designed to empower families with practical tools, strategies, and confidence to help their child succeed at home, school, and in the community.
Through coaching sessions, parents and caregivers learn how to:
Create meaningful opportunities for communication in everyday life.
Model and encourage the use of core vocabulary.
Build independence and confidence in daily routines.
Reinforce strategies from your child’s existing clinical team.
Important note: We do not design new AAC systems or replace the role of Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) or Behaviour Analysts. Instead, we collaborate with professionals to ensure families receive consistent and supportive guidance.
Families can choose between two service models depending on their needs and funding options:
Guided by a Registered Social Worker.
Flexible, inclusive, and less structured — ideal for families who want practical tools without formal therapy documentation.
Emphasizes parent education and hands-on coaching.
Offered as a formal ABA service, eligible for Ontario Autism Program (OAP) recognition and funding.
Includes assessments, individualized programming, and progress tracking.
Delivered under BCBA supervision, with direct support from Registered Behaviour Technicians (RBTs).
May include ABA-based strategies such as Functional Communication Training (FCT), modeling, prompting, and structured practice.
Builds confidence in supporting your child with autism at home and in daily life.
Provides structured education while respecting the role of your child’s existing clinical team.
Encourages strong collaboration between parents, SLPs, Behaviour Analysts, and other professionals.
Offers flexibility: choose a coaching-focused option or a clinical ABA service depending on your goals and funding.
