Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from what truly matters? Imagine freeing yourself from the constant struggle with difficult emotions and embracing a life of purpose and fulfillment. At Talk Therapy Counselling Services, we offer Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a proven approach designed to help you navigate life's challenges with greater clarity and resilience.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a powerful, evidence-based approach that encourages you to stop fighting your thoughts and feelings. Instead of resisting or avoiding discomfort, ACT teaches you how to accept your experiences and commit to actions that align with your values. At Talk Therapy Counselling Services, our skilled therapists guide you through the process of building psychological flexibility—the ability to stay present and act in ways that lead to a more meaningful life, even in the face of pain or hardship.
With ACT, you'll learn how to break free from the cycle of avoidance and negative thinking that may be holding you back. This therapy focuses on helping you take meaningful steps toward your goals, no matter what life throws at you.
EMDR therapy focuses on retrieving and processing traumatic memories and difficult life events to enable adaptive resolution for clients. EMDR has been shown to be an effective treatment for PTSD symptoms, trauma, and more recent research shows that EMDR can be helpful in treating depression, anxiety, addictions, OCD, eating disorders, and chronic pain.
DBT is a type of cognitive behavioural therapy. The focus of DBT is to notice and change negative thinking patterns, make positive behavioural changes, and manage and cope with your emotions. Research has shown that DBT can be useful for treating suicidal ideations and mood disorders.
Cognitive behaviour therapy is focused on identifying unhelpful ways of thinking, and recognizing how these ways of thinking lead to unpleasant emotions and unhelpful behaviours. CBT is an effective treatment for depression, anxiety, disordered eating, low self-esteem, addiction, anger issues, and chronic pain.
EFT therapy is focused on emotions. In therapy clients are encouraged to express, understand, and transform their emotions in a safe and non-judgmental space.
The focus of EFT couples therapy is to identify and change negative interaction cycles, decrease conflict, and to foster the emotional bond within the relationship.

During your first session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, explore your current and past concerns, and discuss your goals.
We strive to be transparent with all of our clients, and what that means is that we will discuss our therapeutic focus and direction with you. The entire therapeutic process is client-centred and focused on your needs.
Your therapist will work with you to improve relationships, set boundaries, learn healthy coping strategies, and work towards the desired change you want to see in your life.
